From a Metacrisis Reality to a Metasolution Mindset : the Indigenous Answer
A series on the importance of the Indigenous Mindset to address the Metacrisis by providing positive approaches to these challenges.
In this 2nd series we will explore the intrinsic values of the Indigenous Mindset in the lights of the Digital Era as a legitimate answer to address the metacrisis.
Let’s start by a small introduction :
The Indigenous mindset refers to the traditional way of thinking, perceiving, and relating to the world that is characteristic of many indigenous communities around the globe.
Facing the huge biodiversity of Indigenous realities, it is definitely impossible to make generalizations or compare a community with another one, nevertheless, there are some core values based on intrinsic values of all life that are historically shared by many of them, and can be defined as "Indigenous Mindset".
Indigenous worldviews and practices are often grounded in a holistic perspective that sees the world as interconnected and interdependent. This perspective recognizes that solutions to complex problems must consider the relationships between different parts of the system and the impacts of any intervention on the whole, rather than a collection of separate parts.
In addition, indigenous approaches often prioritize long-term thinking and planning, recognizing that decisions made today will have impacts for future generations, in the continuum of the multi-game of evolution.
This perspective can provide guidance for addressing complex and interconnected challenges, such as the metacrisis, through integrated and holistic approaches which values community, interdependence and the collective good over individual achievement or personal gain, in providing more life on Earth as a whole — a metasolution mindset.
“ If I see the world as a place dominated by fierce competition for limited resources, I will fight others to get my own needs met. I will live a different life, interpret experiences in a different way, and design different products, services and systems, if I see the world as a place of abundance to be shared in solidarity and collaboration within the human family and with deep care for the ecosystems functions that are the basis for this abundance. These two different perspectives lead to fundamentally different approaches to defining our real and perceived needs and to meeting these needs by either competitive or collaborative means.¨ — Designing Regenerative Cultures , by Daniel Christian Wahl.

What this series is not :
This series is not intended to present a detailed solution, action plans or strategies to be implemented. It is intended to be synthetic and open to invite as many readers as possible to reflect on the relevance of DIOs in the digital age and how we can foster collective action from it.
This our 2nd series, and other articles will be published to create a mycelium of reflections from different views and perspectives around DIOs, Web3 and Indigenous mindset.
